Keno Rules

Often times you will find that the easier a casino game is to play, the bigger its house advantage. Unfortunately for your wallet, Keno is one of the easiest games you can play.

Simply choose a single number or a set of numbers between 1 and 80 and place a wager of a dollar or more. Once you fill out your ticket and receive a receipt, just sit back, relax, and watch the 20 random numbers light up the Keno board. If you match (catch) one or more of the twenty drawn numbers, you might have a winning ticket. The payout depends on the amount of numbers you picked, how many numbers you caught and how much you wagered. Obviously, the more numbers you catch, the more money you win. It is important to note that the payout also depends on how many numbers you picked initially. For example, even though you may catch 6 numbers out of 12, you will win more money catching 5 numbers out of 5. Increasing your wager increases your payout proportionally and there is no advantage to betting more.

Marking Your Ticket

In order to make a proper Keno bet, you must completely fill out a blank Keno ticket and hand it off to a Keno attendant along with your wager. Fill out the number of games you wish to play, the price per game, and the total price. The price per game refers to how much you want to wager for each drawing. If you choose to play more than one game, the ticket becomes a multi-game or multi-race ticket and the same numbers will be wagered in subsequent games. If there is a box for the number of "spots", you may write in the amount of numbers you are going to pick.

This just leaves the most important part of filling out your Keno ticket, picking your numbers! By now you should have the casino's Keno brochure handy. Look it over and examine the payouts for the different number of spots. Once you have decided how many spots you want to pick, simply mark an X over those numbers on your Keno ticket.

Combination Tickets

Environmentally conscious Keno players may choose to play a combination ticket. Rather than filling out two Keno ticket sheets for betting two sets of numbers, you can combine these numbers into one ticket that plays each set separately. To mark a combination ticket, mark both sets of numbers on one Keno ticket and separate the sets with one hard line between them.
